Scripture Focus

“And Ananias went his way and entered the house; and laying his hands on him he said, ‘Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you came, has sent me that you may receive your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.’ Immediately there fell from his eyes something like scales, and he received his sight at once; and he arose and was baptized.”Acts 9:17-18 (NKJV)

Reflection:

Saul’s eyes were physically open, but his spiritual blindness kept him from seeing God’s purpose. On the road to Damascus, he encountered the Lord, and it changed everything. It wasn’t until the scales fell from his eyes that Saul could truly see—not just with his physical eyes, but with spiritual clarity.

When the Lord opens our spiritual eyes, we begin to see life from His perspective. We see His plans for us, His hand in our situations, and His purpose in our lives. Spiritual blindness, however, limits us, causing us to rely on our own understanding and miss the fullness of God’s vision.

Ananias was instrumental in Saul’s transformation. His obedience allowed Saul to receive both his sight and the infilling of the Holy Spirit. This shows us that not only do we need the Lord to open our eyes, but we also need the Holy Spirit to guide us into truth and empower us to walk in our God-given destiny.

Prayer Points:

  • Father, remove every spiritual blindness from my life. Let the scales fall, and help me to see as You see. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
  • Lord, open my eyes to Your plans, purposes, and directions. May I not be limited by my own understanding. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
  • Holy Spirit, fill me afresh. Guide me into all truth and empower me to walk in the fullness of God’s vision for my life. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Wisdom Thought:

“Open my eyes, that I may see wondrous things from Your law.”Psalm 119:18 (NKJV)

May we live with open eyes—spiritually aware, walking in God’s light and fulfilling His purpose for our lives.

Declaration
