Taking Action on the Word of God

On September 30, 2026, Raising Watchers Ministries Int’l gathered to wrap up the third quarter of the year and conclude our six-part “Fearless” series. Over the last few weeks, we explored the spiritual attributes of God’s Word, the crippling consequences of living under fear, and the process of identifying the deeply rooted limiting beliefs feeding our anxieties.

In this final installment, we tackled the most crucial step of all: Taking Action. Meditating on and speaking the Word of God are powerful first steps, but they must be followed by deliberate, aligned action to trigger the flow of divine power.

The Danger of Being Hearers Only

As Christians, we cannot afford to fall into the trap of spiritual passivity. James 1:22-25 warns us not to merely listen to the Word and deceive ourselves. James compares a “hearer only” to a person who looks at their natural face in a mirror, walks away, and immediately forgets what they look like.

Because we are made in the image of God, the Word of God is our mirror. When we fail to obey and act on the Word, we suffer from identity amnesia forgetting who we are and slipping back into the paralysis of fear and limiting beliefs.

Action is the Catalyst for Power

When you act on the Word of God, you validate what you believe. Taking action puts a stamp on your faith and initiates an immediate exchange of spiritual power.

We explored this through the powerful example of the woman with the issue of blood (Matthew 9 / Mark 5):

  1. She Heard: She heard about the miracles of Jesus.

  2. She Spoke & Visualized (Meditation): She kept muttering to herself, “If I only touch His garment, I will be made well.” She visualized her healing before she ever stepped into the crowd.

  3. She Took Action: She refused to be intimidated by the mocking crowd, the dense religious leaders, or her own physical weakness. She pressed through and physically touched the hem of Jesus’ garment.

The moment she took action, Jesus immediately felt that virtue (power) had gone out of Him. Action draws out the anointing!

The Power of Bold Declarations

David’s encounter with Goliath (1 Samuel 17) perfectly illustrates how taking action breaks the cycle of generational fear. While the entire Israelite army, including King Saul, allowed Goliath to torment them with fear for 40 days, David stepped forward.

David didn’t just passively hope Goliath would leave. He boldly declared the Word over the situation, saying, “I will strike you down and cut off your head.” Then, he put feet to his faith and physically ran toward the battle line. When we combine bold, Word-based declarations with confident action, God’s angels step in to ensure the victory is secured.

Persistence in Action

What happens if you take action once and the fear doesn’t immediately vanish? Do not give up.

  • The Persistent Widow (Luke 18): Jesus taught us to pray and never faint. The widow kept returning to the unjust judge until her adversary was dealt with. How much more will our loving Father answer us?

  • Elijah’s Persistence (1 Kings 18): Elijah didn’t just pray for rain and walk away. He bowed his head to pray, and then took action by sending his servant to check the sky. He did this seven times before the cloud appeared. Keep speaking and keep acting until your promised rain falls.

Moving Forward

With the Fearless series concluded, Raising Watchers Ministries Int’l will resume its regular bi-weekly schedule. Join us for our next meeting on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at 6:00 PM CST as we continue to stand in the gap and pray over our children.
